Standard       Mental Health First Aid Refresher Course 

Refresher courses are 4 hour face-to-face courses that allow people who have previously completed a 12 or 14 hour Mental Health First Aid course to refresh their knowledge and skills. For people who are Accredited MHFAiders, the refresher courses offer an opportunity to extend their accreditation for a further 3 years.

The content of each refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

 

Course Details: 

 

This 4-hour course is delivered either face to face or online via Zoom

 

This course gives participants an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learn during the 12 hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course.

 

You will:

 

*Gain an understanding of the the latest research in the mental health field

*Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal

*Work through complex mental health first aid interactions

*Practice mental health first aid skills

 

Course participants receive a copy of the Standard MHFA Manual to keep and a Certificate of Completion.

 

Certificate Validity: 

 

Mental Health First Aid certificate is valid for three (3) years from the completion date. 

Mental Health First Aid Australia recommends that skills are refreshed triennually.
