Service Description

Overview A nationally recognised, focused CPR course teaching the skills to respond to cardiac and breathing-related emergencies. Delivered in line with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, entirely in person. What's covered in class DRSABCD action plan Managing an unconscious, breathing casualty CPR on adults and infants Using an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Infection control and use of resuscitation barrier devices Verbal and written incident reporting Choose Your Training Format Face-to-Face 100% in-person — no online pre-learning required 2.5 hour session, fully hands-on throughout Practical training with adult and infant manikins Small group, trainer-led session Blended (Online + Practical) Complete approx. 1.5–2 hours of online pre-learning at your own pace, before your practical session Attend a 1-hour practical session with adult and infant manikins to demonstrate and reinforce your skills A faster on-the-day option for those who complete the online component in advance Assessment Practical: 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult manikin on the floor, plus CPR demonstration on an infant manikin, and AED use Theory: short written knowledge check Entry requirements No prior experience needed Minimum age 14 (parental/guardian consent required if under 18) Valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) Must be physically able to perform CPR on the floor Certification Nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for HLTAID009, usually issued same day. Recommended renewal every 12 months (shorter than the 3-year cycle for full First Aid), since resuscitation skills degrade faster than general first aid knowledge.
