This nationally recognised short course equips participants with essential skills to manage asthma emergencies in the workplace, schools, childcare settings, and community environments. It covers how to identify asthma triggers, recognise symptoms, and respond effectively using asthma action plans and reliever medication, including the correct use of asthma first aid equipment.

Educators, support workers, sports coaches, first aid officers, and anyone responsible for the care of others — particularly relevant for early learning, childcare, and school staff, for whom this training is often mandatory.

Recognise the signs and symptoms of an asthma emergency

Administer reliever medication (e.g. Ventolin) correctly, with or without a spacer

Develop and apply an asthma risk assessment and management strategy

Respond safely and confidently to an asthma episode in the workplace or community
Face-to-Face
A fully hands-on 4-hour session with no pre-learning required. Delivered in small groups with direct trainer guidance.
Blended (Online + Practical)
Complete 3 hours of self-paced online learning, then attend a 1-hour practical session to demonstrate your skills. Ideal for those who want to minimise time away from work or home.
