Perform rescue from a live low voltage 
panel

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to perform a rescue from live low voltage (LV) electrical apparatus in an electrical industry environment. This does not include overhead lines and underground cables.

It includes the organisational workplace requirements for the inspection and use of live LV panel rescue equipment, and how it applies to electricity supply industry (ESI) workers and/or electrical industry workers to meet work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), mobility and mutual aid requirements.

This course is recommended for those in the role of an electrical safety observer.

 

The course comprises practical training plus face-to-face training hours.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a pre-requisite for this course. Students must be at least 14 years of age at the time of attendance.

Important note: In order to issue an accredited certificate CPR must be performed on the floor with no exemptions.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

The UETDRMP018 Perform rescue from a live LV panel certificate is valid for 12 months. 

The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
