Blended Youth MHFA is an education course that teaches adults about adolescent development and the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in young people. Topics covered include depression, anxiety, panic attacks, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts and behaviours.

About the event
The Blended Youth Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.
This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
Blended face-to-face: a self-paced eLearning component (approximately 4 hours) followed by 1-day face-to-face session OR 2 half-day face-to-face sessions led by an accredited MHFA Instructor.

- Suicidal thoughts and behaviours
- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcoholor other drug use
- Aggressive behaviours.
This is an education course, to learn how to give first aid to others, and is not a therapy or support group.
